Veteran's Day

On 11-11-11, the new World War II memorial was dedicated in town.
We invited some of my in-laws to come because we purchased some pavers to help raise money for it. The pavers are in honor of Brad's two grandfathers who served in the war.
Above, to the very left, is Auntie Paula, Abby, Grammy Linda, Max, Sam, Uncle Jason and Grandpa Rich - whose birthday it also was.

Did you know my father-in-law is the Town Manager in Duxbury
(also known as Deluxe-bury)? It's stitched on his jacket
lest anyone forgets.
Here is the magnificent new memorial. Isn't it beautiful?
It honors all from our town who served in WWII.
Our pavers are in front of that center panel.

It was definitely chilly out but a beautiful day.
Max was enthralled with the cannon that they used at the very end.
We were so close that we got smoke in our eyes and throat.

Here is the monument to the Civil war veterans.
I love our town commons.
This section is now known as "Veteran's Memorial Commons"
which is nice.

The high school band had to have been freezing.
I hope they had thermals on underneath.
I was already a Scott Brown fan (senator) but it increased two-fold on this day.
You want to know why? Because he took about 3 minutes to say something unlike ALL of the other (many) politicians on the program who loved hearing themselves talk!
We are thrilled to have been part of this spectacular day.
Thank you veterans!

Incredibly cool. There are some great advantages to living back East.

Those are great photos, Liz. And I agree with Janice --- Incredibly cool. I got chills when I saw the photo of the memorial.
