Copenhagen, Part II

Blessedly guided by the mission president's wife, we headed to the Church
of Our Lady in Copenhagen
to see the Christus by Bertel Thorvaldsen.
Note: There is an entire museum dedicated to Thorvaldsen but the
Christus, which has a copy in a visitor's center on Temple Square in
Salt Lake City, is NOT THERE. It is in this church.
It's not far from the Stroge, near the University of Copenhagen,
and you will be so glad you went.
Thorvaldsen also did sculptures of the 12 apostles.
There are meanings to each of their props
or likenesses.
This is the baptismal font.

It is so different than many of the churches we saw.
Simple, peaceful and beautiful.
We spent a fair amount of time here just soaking in the
spirit but it closes at 5pm so we had to leave.
If it is sunny out and the right time of day, an
amazing rainbow appears on the floor of the church.

Blessed memories. Bornholm Island is unique in having preserved its farmlands owned by our ancestors. Thanks for the engaging recaps.
