Copenhagen, Part IIi

Did you know that you can get bus route information via
your iPhone, even if you're abroad?
Can you say lifesaver?
We made it out to Frederiksberg (not to be confused with
Frederiksborg!) to see the LDS temple there.
We just happened to be there when a wedding was finishing up
and the couple was out for photos.
He is from Denmark and she is from Norway.
She has another gown for her Norse reception because
there wouldn't have been time to clean this one had it
gotten dirty.
Aren't they regal looking?

How do I know all of this? The groom's aunt was a foreign exchange
student in BOUNTIFUL, Utah (two towns away from my hometown)
AND she took sewing lessons in Centerville from
Margaret Farmer where I took sewing lessons
as a young 'un. My mom still goes there for mending.
Small world, eh?

The mission president and his wife were there.

Below: The side area.
The meeting house is about 1/2 block away.
We did about three takes before this really registered.
Yes, it is what you think it is.
(Open only on Fridays and Saturdays.)
My great-grandfather Oluf Johnson - who is John Johnson's son (see Bornholm) - served an LDS mission to Denmark. It was fantastic to be in some of the places where he may have walked and see some of the fruits of his labors. So many early converts to Mormonism came from Denmark and emigrated to America. The darling aunt whom we connected with outside the temple said, "If all of those converts had stayed, LDS Church headquarters would be RIGHT HERE!!"
True. But hang in there. You're doing good things!
